Description

Ein sorgfältig ausgewähltes Werk kurdischer Literatur – kuratiert für Leserinnen und Leser, die Sprache, Geschichte und Kultur vertiefen möchten.

The founding of the Republic of Kurdistan in 1946 represents a significant yet tragic chapter in the history of the Kurdish people and Kurdistan. Many books have been written on this subject, but the existing works remain incomplete for readers, as fundamental documents from the archives of diplomats from those states that had vested interests (both positive and negative) in these events have not yet been disclosed. Likewise, little has been revealed about the Republic directly from the memories of those who were part of this period.

Kakşar Oremar has dedicated many years to researching the history of the Republic of Kurdistan. He follows developments step by step and provides answers to numerous unanswered questions.

A special feature of his research is that, unlike many authors before him, he conducted personal interviews with those who themselves played a role in the Republic. These conversations have revealed many previously unknown details that cannot be found in any archive.

For the first time, this work publishes interviews and recollections of those who lived through the Republic period. Kakşar collected these memories with patience and meticulousness over the years.

The book comprises 648 full-color pages in two parts. The first part (160 pages) offers a context and analysis of the republic. The second part consists of the interviews conducted. At the end of each interview, relevant photos are included. These images are themselves historical documents and provide additional insights.

The people interviewed include:

Mina Qazi (wife of Peshewa Qazi Mihemed)
Elî Qazi (son of Peşewa Qazi Mihemed)
Îfet, Munîr, Perwîn and Suheyil Qazî (daughters of Pêşewa Qazi Mihemed)
Dr. Seyîd Ezîz Shemzînî (one of the military leaders of the republic)
Kerîm Zend (teacher during the Republic)
Menaf Kerîmî (Minister of Education of the Republic)
Xenî Bilûryan (politician of that time)
