The Sharafnama by Sharaf al-Din Bitlisi is one of the most important classical works on the history of Kurdish women and Kurdistan. Sharaf al-Din Bitlisi came from the ruling family of Bitlis, which was also known for its promotion of science, literature, and culture. In this environment, a work emerged that combines political history with the intellectual tradition of its time.
