Sala Şewatê

This novel tells the story of the people who were persecuted, condemned, or forced to flee after the Serhildana Şêx Seîd. It also focuses on the Mehkûmên Hereketa Pêçarê and figures such as Şêx Fexrî, Feqî Elî, and Emê Faro, whose traces the state pursued in villages and valleys.

With a large military force, villages are surrounded, roads are cut off, and residents are prevented from leaving their homes. Violence and destruction affect people, animals, and entire communities. Against this backdrop, the novel paints a picture of a time when persecution, flight, and uncertainty determined the daily lives of many people.

The work preserves the memory of the years after the execution of Şêx Seîd and his companions. It tells of a difficult era whose traces have remained deep in the collective memory – the Salên Şewatê.

Ehmed says to his sister:

“What does Delû Fikrî tell us?”

Eyşe kneels before the boots:

“Delû Fikrî, I have come to you for refuge
By Allah, I beg of you
Do not condemn my Ehmed to the mountains
I will throw myself into the grave of altın (gold) three times for it.”

Delû Fikrî tells her.

He says: “I will make your Ehmed
A prisoner of the mountains
Or I will make him a target for bullets!”
