In these epics, we encounter not only scenes from the everyday life of Kurdish villages and towns, but a deeper reading of the history of the Kurdish people itself — told in a distinct and authentic language.
Through reading them, we open a window into the discourses and realities that shaped Kurdish regions in past times. History, after all, is not only made up of great political, military, or cultural events; it also lives in the stories told by the people, in what happens on the margins rather than in the centers.
