Serda Selaheddîn is one of those Kurdish poets who have remained little known until now. He began writing as a young student in the madrasa and, at a very young age, composed astonishingly mature and aesthetically refined poems.
Serda Selaheddîn died at the age of only 22. The last two years of his life were heavily marked by illness, which is why most of his poetic work was created when he was around 18 or 19 years old.
His poems are predominantly written in traditional forms and address themes such as Kurdistan, the situation of Kurds, national identity, love, and nature.
