This book consists of numerous valuable documents. Some of the documents date from before the journey of Mela Mistefa Barzanî and his companions to the Soviet Union. The documents from this phase are reports by Soviet officials who were stationed in Kurdistana Îranê at the time and reported to the relevant authorities of their state.
Some of the documents also consist of correspondence between official Soviet agencies regarding the Kurds. Furthermore, this book also contains letters from Mela Mistefa Barzanî addressed to Soviet authorities, particularly to Stalin and Khrushchev.
The originals of these documents are written in Russian. The translation into Sorani was done by Efrasiyaw Hewramî. To enable Kurmanji speakers to also benefit from this work, Ziya Avcı also transcribed the texts into Latin script and translated them into Kurmanji.
