One evening, a Russian mother knocks on the door of a young Kurdish woman. She leaves her child with her and secretly disappears the next morning to return to the war front of her country.
The Kurdish woman takes the child in and raises it as her own. Years pass, the child grows up in her family and environment, and she raises it as a Kurd.
It is not until much later that the biological mother returns. This begins a story about motherhood, belonging, and the question of what connects a person to a family and a home.
