Description

Ein sorgfältig ausgewähltes Werk kurdischer Literatur – kuratiert für Leserinnen und Leser, die Sprache, Geschichte und Kultur vertiefen möchten.

The Treaty of Axalê of 1881 was concluded during the border demarcations between the Shah of Iran and the Tsar of Russia. As a result of the agreement, large parts of northern Xorasan went to Russia. Fîrûze near Eşqava, a settlement area of the Kurdên Celalî, was also to be handed over to Russia.

Serdar Êwez Xanê Celalî, who ruled Fîrûze, resisted this handover for twelve years and fought against the loss of the region until he was killed. After his death, Tuhfegul continued the resistance.

The work thus commemorates a little-known chapter of Kurdish history in Xorasan and the long-standing resistance against the border policy of that time.
